We wish all our friends, supporters, acquaintances and critics a great and productive 2017!
Thank you, and may you find good health and reap many moments of joy in the new year.
Hello!
Living in the bush, this is the time of year when we appreciate how puny we really are.
November did bring a little rain as well as spectacular clouds and sun-sets…
November also brought multiple lightning-strikes on various points of the property …
Dear Kachana-Friends,
October remained remarkably cool for us… 34mm of rain was also very welcome. We enjoyed the company of helpers and visitors. Most of the photos for this month are shot from Bec’s gyro-copter:
Welcome to our September selection, dear Photos of the Month People!
Seen through the camera-lens of Yannick:
Hello all you good people!
August has been and gone…
We (that is to say: Middle Level Management) were busy treating some very brittle country immediately North of the camp.
Hello to all our dear Kachana-Friends!
According to the calendar July was mid-winter for Kachana! Most nights seemed to be about 10 degrees warmer than usual…
Dear Kachana-Friends,
With July we officially begin a new season. This is the third driest we have experienced since we, as a family, moved out here in November 1991. (“Dry”, that is for Kimberley standards!)
Though without the shower in May it might now be more of a challenge. We empathise with those who got a lot less.
Dear Kachana-Friends,
May brought with it a few cooler days, an unexpected but appreciated 22 mm of rain, and then more August-type weather! (Pleasant balmy evenings, cool nights, warm days with cloud-build-up)
Dear Kachana-Friends,
April brought with it shorter and drier days, and except for 6mm on April Fool’s day, no rain.
“Hello!” to all our dear Kachana-Friends,
March brought us more welcomed rain… 16 mm for the month… not as much as in other years, but enough.
Hello dear Kachana-Friends!
News of the month: He asked her… she said “Yes.”
