Living in the bush, this is the time of year when we appreciate how puny we really are.

November did bring a little rain as well as spectacular clouds and sun-sets…

November also brought multiple lightning-strikes on various points of the property …

August has been and gone…

We (that is to say: Middle Level Management) were busy treating some very brittle country immediately North of the camp.

According to the calendar July was mid-winter for Kachana! Most nights seemed to be about 10 degrees warmer than usual…

Dear Kachana-Friends,

With July we officially begin a new season. This is the third driest we have experienced since we, as a family, moved out here in November 1991. (“Dry”, that is for Kimberley standards!)

Though without the shower in May it might now be more of a challenge. We empathise with those who got a lot less.

May brought with it a few cooler days, an unexpected but appreciated 22 mm of rain, and then more August-type weather! (Pleasant balmy evenings, cool nights, warm days with cloud-build-up)

April brought with it shorter and drier days, and except for 6mm on April Fool’s day, no rain.

March brought us more welcomed rain…         16 mm for the month…         not as much as in other years, but enough.
